At least three new hotels are planned to be opened in Kyiv before the beginning of Euro-2012: Hilton, Sheraton and Staro. This has been announced by the head of the Kyiv City State Administration Directorate for preparation and holding final part of Euro-2012 in Ukraine, Tetyana Slyshyk, in a live broadcast on the Kyiv TV channel.
“We have already got over 120 operating hotels. Demand for five-star hotels is very serious. We expect Hilton to be opened in Shevchenko Boulevard later this year. Some rooms on upper floors are already completed there. But we have expectations, and they are much interested, because this is a good chance. The same is also applicable to the Sheraton Hotel, though its readiness level is 80 per cent. They are working with great intensity on putting this hotel into operation in due time,” the official said. Besides this, Slyshyk has also said that the four-star Sraro Hotel able to accommodate 35 visitors will be opened in the capital city by summer.
The high-ranking official has emphasized that more detailed information on accommodation and occupancy of the hotels will be available as early as in March. Namely at that time the authorities will see whether it will be worth looking for any other new proposals.

The host city of Lviv regards the preparation of its hotel infrastructure for Euro-2012 as one of its greatest strengths. The resort city of Truskavets, located 80 km from the city, will also help to take in ordinary fans during the tournament. However, the Lion City will also lease out hotel complexes for the tournament. As noted in an interview with the "Uryadoviy Courier" newspaper by the Director of Lviv City Council for preparations for the championship, Oleh Zasadniy, the city plans to commission six more facilities belonging to hotel infrastructure prior to the start of the tournament.
"The difficult economic conditions of recent years have, fortunately, not influenced the plans of the representatives of the hotel business, though they may have somewhat slowed the pace of construction. On the map of the city beautiful newly built or renovated hotels will appear soon, which will decorate the architectural character of the ancient city. The finishing touches will be put by designers and staff in the newly-built Nobilis hotel, which is located not far from the centre on cosy Fredra Streeet. It is planned to open six more hotels prior to the championship.
Active work is going ahead on completing the construction of the second phase of the five-star hotel Leopolis, whose luxury rooms will accommodate members of the UEFA family.
There is also the Vintage hotel, a very cozy and comfortable four-star hotel for 117 people. The Grand Hotel, which is on Freedom Avenue, will have five-star status after reconstruction. And the city’s oldest hotel, the George, is also being renovated, said Zasadniy.
He added that the existing chain of hotels in the city will be supplemented by luxurious refurbished rooms Chopin, Astoria and Swiss.
The four-star hotel Reikartz, located on Horodotsky Street, hospitably opened its doors not long ago, and currently the second of this network is receiving guests on Drukarska Street. |

The fixed fan embassy will be stationed indoors or in a separate building, which will provide information or help football fans and visitors to the tournament. A fixed service embassy for fans will be available throughout the competition.
Mobile fan embassies, which will focus on work in the streets, will also work during preparations for Euro-2012. Unlike fixed fan embassies to be placed in specific locations in each host city, mobile fans will be accompanied by their location in the city or its boundary (e.g., camping areas). During match days, mobile groups of fan embassies will offer services and advice in key areas and meet their target groups in the host cities of Euro-2012. Stands, used buses, vans and pickups will be used for this. On match days the services of fan embassies can be supplemented by mobile fan consulates focused on smaller target groups and placed in key locations.
